Mission and Objectives
Mission
To support and promote the interests of philatelists in Hampshire and adjacent counties who are members of the Philatelic Societies affiliated to the Federation.
Objectives
- give leadership in philatelic matters pertinent to members of the Federation; and promote the interests of members and Societies at National level
- communicate to all members by means of regular publication(s)
- hold at least one Convention per year with participation by dealers in stamps and postal history, and participation by Specialist Societies
- invite competition for Federation Awards; by affiliated Societies and members of affiliated Societies:
- The Howard White Inter-society Competition
- The Jan Kaluski Competition - 32 sheets competition (individual members)
- The Hampshire Single Frame Competition (individual members

- provide encouragement and guidance to those members wishing to improve their standard of exhibition and level of achievement in competitions
- provide a framework for affiliated members to take part in philatelic competitions at Society, Federation and National leve
- promote cross - society communication, interaction and assist in identifying speakers for society meetings
- assist with the increase of membership in affiliated societies with special emphasis in encouraging junior members
- ensure that the Federation Council and Committee continue to find the best people for the official positions: and to conduct its affairs in a cost effective manner to the benefit of affiliated societies and members

Some ephemera from the Federation's early days
Hampshire Philatelic federation was established in 1969. Bulletin Number 1 published in April of 1970 contains an
article by Francis Kiddle entitled "Foundation of HPF" and an Editorial by Tony Farmer.
For posterity, editions 1 to 134 of the Bulletin are lodged in paper format at the Winchester Records Office.

Recently (January 2022) early copies of the programmes for the Hampshire Federation Conventions became available. In those days the Conventions were hosted
